Discovered by Stan Getz, she is a performer, songwriter, producer, bandleader, mentor, and force of nature. A Peruvian native who is now an LA institution. Her band, Cecilia Noël & The Wild Clams, are arguably the most potent Latin sound to emerge from Los Angeles in years. She describes her music as “SalSoul”. Her latest album “Havana Rocks” won the CubaDisco 2015 award for “Best International Album”. In her spare time, she also tours and performs with Colin Hay of Men at Work.
San Miguel Pérez
An exceptional musician, he is considered one of the best tres and guitar players in Cuba and received the CubaDisco Award in 2011 for Best Tresero and in 2014 for Best Música Tradicional Cubana. Born in Granma, Cuba, he is also a singer, percussionist and composer, and he is highly respected for his knowledge and command of the true identity of Cuban Music. He has toured and performed with Adalberto y su Son, Jóvenes Clásicos, The New Generation Of Buena Vista Social Club and currently, with Colin Hay.
As a child, Luis Conte was sent from Santiago de Cuba to Los Angeles by his parents, in order to prevent him from being forced to serve in the Cuban military. This was a turning point in Conte's life, and for the musical community in Los Angeles. Since then, Luis has played percussion and record numerous albums with the greatest personalities of entertainment including Madonna, Al Di Meola, Pat Metheny Group, Phil Collins and James Taylor.
